Derived from the Turkish word for “good feeling,” kefir is a tangy, effervescent, cultured-milk beverage originating in the Caucasus mountains of eastern Europe.
Kefir is highly probiotic, containing many more strands of beneficial bacteria than even yogurt. It is known to support digestive and immune system health, and promote overall well-being.
Unlike most commercial brands, our kefir is traditional, authentic, and live, made using the original “mother culture,” which means batches may vary in taste and texture. Due to kefir’s effervescent nature, pressure may build up in bottles. This is a sign of its genuine and potent aliveness.
